Building a better future - the Scots in Montreal

2017 was a year of special anniversaries. The Montreal Highland Games celebrated its 40th birthday, the city of Montreal its 375th, and Canada its 150th. To mark this occasion, the St. Andrew's Society prepared a series of panels outlining the history of the Scottish community in Montreal. These panels were displayed in the Society pavilion during the 2017 Highland Games.

La Société St. Andrew's de Montréal est située sur le territoire traditionnel des Kanien'kehà:ka, un endroit qui sert depuis longtemps de lieu de rencontre et d'échange entre de nombreuses Premières nations, notamment les Kanien'kehá:ka de la Confédération des Haudenosaunee, les Hurons/Wendat, les Abénaquis et les Anishinaabeg.
