Educational Aid
The St. Andrew’s Society of Montreal provides educational aid to qualified students of Scottish ancestry by means of bursaries.
There are three criteria for getting an educational bursary with the St. Andrew’s Society of Montreal:

- student must be of Scottish birth or ancestry
- student must be in full-time attendance at a university or CEGEP
- student must be a resident of Quebec
Deadlines for receipt of applications
- Fall term: June 14 (payments made in October)
- Winter term: November 15 (payments made in February)
Applications are now closed. The next round will open in spring 2025.
Minimum criteria required of Bursary Applicants
1.1 First time application—minimum requirements
- completed application submitted by deadline
- application form is complete
- official transcripts have been received and are in the applicant's file
- Scottish backgrounds/affiliations
- acceptance into university program leading to formal qualification
- status as a full-time student
- supportive academic reference
- supportive personal reference
- covering letter proving clear evidence of seriousness of intent
- official transcripts provided
- evidence of a GPA of at least 3
- evidence provided of maintenance of full-time status for 2nd semester
- covering letter provided addressing experience of 1st semester and providing additional information the candidate wishes to bring to the Commitee's attention (e.g grades, GPA, status in program, etc...)
- completed application submitted by deadline
- renewal application form is complete
- official transcripts from previous year have been received
- GPA for previous semester shows evidence of 3 minimum
- evidence of full-time status in program has been provided
- covering letter provided addressing experience of previous semester and providing additional information the candidate wishes to bring to the Committee's attention in support of their renewal
